Dr. Abdirashid Warsame obtained his MSc in genetic engineering from the Department of Biosciences, Oslo University in 2002 and joined the Norwegian Radium Hospital in 2003. He was a PhD research fellow at the Institute for Clinical Medicine between 2008-2012 and received his PhD from the Faculty of Medicine (University of Oslo) in 2013. Afterwards, he pursued his postdoctoral researcher in cancer genetics at the University of Oslo, and he simultaneously served as a visiting researcher at Stavanger University Hospital, Norway. Dr. Warsame works now as a senior scientist and research fellow at Oslo University Hospital. His research areas of interest include the role of chronic infections in cancer development and related topics. He has served as a board member of various public and private institutions as well as not-profit organizations. He is currently serving as a board member of the Norwegian Academic Association at Oslo University Hospitals.
